What Is Cancer?

Cancer happens when the normal cells within our bodies begin to grow and divide/mutate uncontrollably, and may form a mass or lump of tissue called a malignant tumour. It is when old cells that are meant to die off, survive and start growing abnormally. When these cancer cells begin to spread into nearby organs and cells, this process is called metastasis
